This is a long-standing Mexican restaurant in Glyfada that combines colourful surroundings, generous Mexican and Tex-Mex dishes, tequila, margaritas and a lively atmosphere.

What is Amigos? Mexican Restaurant in Athens, Greece
Amigos is a Mexican restaurant.
Beginning in Glyfada back in 1995, it’s a long-established name on the Athens restaurant scene. A second location followed in 2007, located in Nea Smyrni.
The restaurants continue with Mexican-inspired food, tequila, cocktails and colourful surroundings.
There’s an outdoor seating area – if you sit here, take a jacket for the evening during the winter months.
Why Visit Amigos? Mexican Food Athens
The biggest attraction is that Amigos offers you something different from the classic Athens dining experience.
You don’t visit here if you’re searching for traditional Greek food. This is a restaurant that offers you your Mexican favourites.

A fantastic option if you’re travelling with friends and want to experience something different during a more casual evening.
You will be able to find a fantastic range of Tex-Mex inspired dishes, Burritos, Burgers, Fajitas – most of which are also offered as vegetarian options, suiting all requirements and palettes.
Fajitas. Our food order included Fajitas and they are served on a wooden board with heated plates.
Meat or vegetables of your choice come on the heated plate – sizzling. Wraps are served in a separate dish so you can create your own fajitas.

Visiting Amigos for the first time?
Ordering a Margarita feels almost obligatory.
Tequila is central to the Amigos experience and the restaurant has its own tequileria concept. The drinks offering at Amigos makes the restaurant particularly situated to a relaxed dinner and gradually turns into a fantastic evening out.
On our visit, we went for food and Margaritas. Options include your traditional margarita and Strawberry Margaritas.
Served in jugs – they’re perfect for sharing.
Prefer sweet Margaritas? Choose the Strawberry – you’ll love it.
The combination is exactly how we’d recommend approaching Amigos.

What To Eat at Amigos
The menu is broad so the best way to experience this is to order several sharing dishes. You can choose like something we picked (pictured above) or from the below.
Nachos
An obvious place to start and an easy snack that starts off the evening.
Amigos offers different options and servings for your Nachos and you can choose from things including Chicken, Beef, Chili Con Carne, Cheese Sauce, Salsa, Guacamole and Sour Cream.
Ideal for the table. Particularly if you’re ordering Margaritas and want something to snack on while deciding on your main course.
Tacos
Another good choice, especially if you’re looking for something recognisably Mexican.
The restaurant’s menu includes street-taco-style options with different fillings and accompaniments.
Useful if you’re trying to keep your meal lighter when comparing to other larger Tex-Mex dishes.
Fajitas
Our choice when we visited and perfect if you’re hungry. They’re filling but for a large group of friends – you may need to order two servings.
A fun option for a group as the meal becomes a part of the experience rather than simply arriving finished on a plate.
Served on a board with hot dishes and separate dishes for the wraps allowing you to create your own mix using the fillings.
Guacamole and Salsa
For the table and for sharing, add guacamole and some of the restaurant’s house salsas!
Something Sweet
If you have room after dinner, Amigos also have Mexican-inspired dessert including Churros and Ice Cream.

Located in the Souther Suburbs of Athens rather than being around the Acropolis – this is a location that works well if you’re Athens itinerary includes Glyfada or if you’re visiting the Athens Riviera.
